Immigration Requirements/Visas
Visas are required for certain participants/nationalities traveling to Kampala, Uganda. Selected countries in special co-operation with the Ugandan government are exempted from obtaining a Uganda traveling visa in advance. Please visit the official website of the Uganda Government to determine if you require a visa before traveling https://visas.immigration.go.ug If you require a visa before departure, we advise that participants from countries with Ugandan diplomatic missions are required by the Ugandan immigration authorities to secure their visas from those missions or they can apply for eVisa directly with the Ugandan immigration authorities at https://visas.immigration.go.ug . Participants from such countries must obtain a visa through the Ugandan Diplomatic Mission before departure. These include holders of diplomatic and service passports as well as United Nations Laissez-Passez.
Please contact your nearest Ugandan Embassy for a Visa, as these are issued at discretion of the relevant Authorities. The Ugandan Authorities do issue Visas at the airport on arrival (please check the official website of the Ugandan Immigration to see if this applies to your country at https://visas.immigration.go.ug/#/help Travel insurance or health certificates may be required prior to entry including Yellow Fever Certificate -please check with your nearest Embassy or Travel Agent. Please allow for 2-5 weeks for Visa processes. An official letter for Visa purposes will be issued by African CEO Media Corp only on completed registration form, and receipt of payment for the event. Currency/Banks
All foreign currency in your possession should be declared on the blue currency declaration form upon arrival at any Ugandan airport. There is no limit to how much you can bring into the country. Ugandan currency is denominated in “Shillings S”. The bank rate of exchange varies. Currency changed into Shillings at local banks on the venue compound or surroundings may be reconverted only at those banks, and not exceeding the originally converted amount. Almost all hotels and restaurants and large departmental stores accept credit cards. It is however advisable to carry other means of exchange (traveller cheques) and adequate local cash in U.S. dollars, Euro or British Pounds.
Registration and identification badges
Participants are required to register and obtain identification badges prior to the opening of the Conference. Also kindly carry your invitation letter and personal identification for on-site accreditation. For identification and security reasons, identification badges should be worn by all participants at all times.
Airline Reservations
A number of international airlines operate to and from Uganda. It is required that participants secure their return/onward air passage prior to their arrival. There will be travel agencies on site at Summit to assist with re-confirmation of tickets and to provide participants with travel and tour-related information.
Hotel Accommodation
Arrangements have been made by the Conference organisers to book accommodation for participants at their expense in various hotels, closer to the venue. Participants who wish to avail themselves of this service at African CEO Media preferential rates are required to complete the relevant section of the registration form and forward it no later than 31st April or reserve, directly quoting the events name to obtain special rates. Media/Press Accreditation
The media/press must be accredited PRIOR EVENT and will not be allowed entry on site without Pre-Registration. For media accreditation, please email John Lemon at media@ubsummit.com to request a media pass or register at www.ubsummit.com/media-centre .
